New York Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury announced Wednesday morning that the franchise has agreed to terms with goaltender Jonathan Quick on a one-year contract extension, $1.55 million AAV.
The New York Rangers have extended goaltender Jonathan Quick’s contract for one year, with an average annual value of $ 1.5 million.

Earlier this year, Quick achieved a milestone by becoming the first U.S.-born goaltender to reach 400 wins, making him the 15th goaltender in NHL history to accomplish this feat. Additionally, the Connecticut native became the 17th goaltender in NHL history to play in 800 career games, and he is only the second U.S.-born goalie to reach that milestone.

In his 48 games with the New York Rangers over two seasons, Jonathan Quick has achieved a record of 27 wins, 12 losses, and 4 overtime losses, along with a .904 save percentage, a 2.83 goals-against average, and five shutouts. Among NHL goaltenders who have played in 50 or fewer games since the start of the 2023-24 season, Quick is tied for first with 27 wins.
Additionally, Quick ranks 14th all-time in NHL wins, 18th in shutouts, and among goaltenders who have played 750 or more games, he sits sixth in save percentage and fourth in goals-against average.
Quick is a three-time Stanley Cup champion, winning titles in 2012 and 2014 with Los Angeles, and in 2023 with Las Vegas. He has also been a finalist for the Vezina Trophy twice. At 39 years old, Quick holds a 9-6-2 record in 21 games this season for the Rangers, including three shutouts.
The Vezina Trophy honors the NHL’s best goaltender each year. Quick was a finalist for the award during the 2011-12 and 2015-16 seasons. Fellow Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin won the award in 2022, and the Rangers recently finalized an eight-year, $ 92 million contract extension with him. While Shesterkin is the starting goalie, Quick is next in line, with Dylan Garand from the Hartford Wolf Pack (AHL affiliate) also developing.

- $ 100k for reaching 25 wins
- Modified no-trade clause (NTC)
