Zion Williamson’s Confident Four-Word Statement After Making NBA History
New Orleans Pelicans star Zion Williamson made a bold statement following his historic performance in a win over the Los Angeles Clippers.
Despite entering the season with high expectations, the Pelicans’ campaign has been derailed by injuries, leaving them with the second-worst record in the Western Conference. However, the future still looks promising due to the team’s young talent.
While players like Trey Murphy, Yves Missi, and Herb Jones have shown potential, Zion Williamson remains the team’s most promising player. The former No. 1 overall pick demonstrated that potential once again in the recent win against the Clippers. After making NBA history with a stat line of 22 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds for his second career triple-double, Williamson shared a bold statement with the league.

“I stand on that. When I am myself, I don’t feel like nobody can stop me,” Williamson said. Since the All-Star break, he has been averaging 24.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.
While availability has been the main issue for Williamson, rather than his performance on the court, he did manage to play 70 games last season—his most in a single year. However, he has had as many seasons with fewer than 30 games played as seasons with over 60 games.
Though the Pelicans’ playoff hopes are nearly impossible at this point, Williamson can focus on staying healthy and showcasing his talents on the floor. Meanwhile, the team will aim to secure a high lottery pick to provide additional support for their star player.
