Kirk Cousins made an appearance in “Quarterback” Season 1 in 2023, and now Season 2 of the series, which centers around quarterbacks, will feature Cousins alongside Joe Burrow and Jared Goff. It’s been 616 days since the first season of Netflix’s “Quarterback” premiered.

We won’t forget it because we binge-watched the entire season, especially with Kirk Cousins as the focus. At the time, Cousins was the Minnesota Vikings quarterback, but since then, he has torn his Achilles, signed a massive contract with the Atlanta Falcons, and was benched during the 2024 season.

Now, Cousins’ future is uncertain. He might serve as Michael Penix’s backup in Atlanta, carrying a hefty $40 million cap hit, or be traded to a team that still views him as a starting-caliber quarterback.

Meanwhile, Netflix has been documenting Cousins’ journey, likely still filming as we head into Season 2, which will also feature Bengals QB Joe Burrow and Lions QB Jared Goff when it premieres in July.

Though it’s unclear when Netflix started following Cousins for Season 2, it’s likely they captured the drama leading up to his March 2024 decision to sign with the Falcons after reportedly receiving an offer from the Vikings.

The season will almost certainly cover Cousins’ return to Minnesota on December 8, when the Vikings defeated his Falcons 42-21. In that game, Sam Darnold threw five touchdowns, while Cousins tossed two interceptions.

Season 2 will be can’t-miss TV, especially since Cousins had to endure being benched while throwing a career-worst and NFL-high 16 interceptions in 2024. If the cameras are still rolling, we could also get a glimpse into Cousins’ potential move away from Atlanta.
