Maryland Terrapins May Be Losing AD Damon Evans
There could be significant changes ahead in College Park. ESPN’s Pete Thamel reports that Athletic Director Damon Evans is reportedly a top candidate to fill the vacant AD position at SMU. Evans has served as the Terrapins’ AD since 2017, but that may change if SMU reaches an agreement with him.
Under Evans’ leadership, Maryland has won 49 Big Ten Championships and Tournament titles, the third-most in the conference during that period. The Terps have also secured seven National Championships since 2014.

Recently, Evans was appointed to the College Football Playoff committee, and reports indicate that he and men’s basketball coach Kevin Willard were working on a significant contract extension to keep Willard at Maryland long-term.
