Rams Strengthen Offensive Line in Latest SI Mock Draft
The Los Angeles Rams have been active this offseason, making several moves to improve their roster. As they prepare for the 2025 NFL Draft, the Rams are looking to continue their trend of successfully adding talent.
One of the Rams’ major challenges last season was the offensive line. While the line performed well, injuries plagued the group throughout the year, preventing them from maintaining consistent starters. The unit showed improvement toward the end of the season and in the playoffs, but with more stability and time playing together, they could have performed even better.
This offseason, the Rams have been quietly reinforcing their offensive line. In case they face similar injury issues again next season, they want to ensure they have capable, versatile players who are familiar with the offensive system and can step in when needed.
With the 2025 NFL Draft approaching, the Rams are expected to focus on bolstering their offensive line. Over recent years, the team has excelled in the draft, and other teams are now trying to replicate their success.
In Sports Illustrated’s latest mock draft, the Rams are predicted to select offensive lineman Grey Zabel from North Dakota State.
“Los Angeles hits the jackpot as they desperately need offensive line help for QB Matthew Stafford,” the mock draft states. “They get the best player from the Senior Bowl and the fastest-rising offensive line star in 2025, the versatile Grey Zabel from North Dakota State.”
Zabel would be an excellent addition for the Rams, as he can play multiple positions along the offensive line, offering flexibility and the ability to make an immediate impact in the NFL.
NFL analyst Lance Zierlein commented, “Zabel has an NFL-ready frame with room for added mass and shows solid play strength. He will need to use quick hands and good footwork to overcome his shorter arms, which could make it harder to sustain blocks and handle pass rushers. Teams may ask Zabel to snap the ball during the draft process to showcase his positional flexibility.”
The main concern for the Rams is the level of competition Zabel faced in college. However, landing such a top-tier offensive lineman with the 26th overall pick would be a steal for the team.
