Saints Select 1,233-Yard Star Pass Catcher in Latest Mock Draft
Could the Saints pick Tyler Warren with the 9th overall selection?
While the New Orleans Saints have made some moves this offseason, they’re still a ways off from being a true contender in 2025. One of their main priorities is to add more pass-catching weapons for Derek Carr. The offense showed promise early last season but quickly lost steam. This offseason, the Saints may turn to the draft to bring in new playmakers.
Cody Williams of FanSided recently projected that the Saints would use their No. 9 pick to select Penn State tight end Tyler Warren.
“Given the New Orleans Saints’ ongoing salary cap issues, their main focus should be bringing in talented players,” Williams wrote. “Simply put, they don’t have enough of those. It’s hard to ignore the inconsistency of their current pass-catchers and let Tyler Warren slip by.”
Williams believes the Saints can use Warren’s versatility effectively, similar to their success with Taysom Hill, giving Derek Carr a reliable safety option in critical moments.
Warren is a versatile tight end with a diverse route tree, making him a tough matchup for defenders. Adding him to Carr’s offense would provide a trustworthy target on key downs.
The New York Jets have also been heavily linked to Warren at No. 7, two spots ahead of the Saints. If the Jets draft the Penn State standout, the Saints may need to shift their focus to another position.
