Texans Add Former Pro Bowl OT to Offensive Line

The Houston Texans have bolstered their offensive line with another new addition. As part of their ongoing offseason roster changes, the Texans have signed free agent tackle Trent Brown to a one-year deal worth up to $3 million, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Brown, who played for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2024, appeared in just three games before his season ended due to a torn patella injury. At 31 years old, he now gets a fresh opportunity to return to the field with the Texans.

Originally a 7th-round draft pick by the San Francisco 49ers, Brown spent three years there before moving on to the New England Patriots and later the Las Vegas Raiders, where he earned a Pro Bowl selection. After his time with the Raiders, he returned to the Patriots and eventually ended up with the Bengals.

With 96 career starts, Brown brings valuable experience to Houston’s offensive line. He could potentially start at right tackle, while new acquisition Cam Robinson is expected to anchor the left side.

This signing is part of the Texans’ significant effort to revamp their offensive line after a challenging 2024 season. Given the team’s active offseason moves, it’s likely that more changes are on the horizon to strengthen the offensive line further.
