Breaking: Texas A&M Hit with Sensational Update, spring football season has just begun
Spring football has kicked off at Texas A&M, with Thursday marking the first practice of the season. Head coach Mike Elko aims to make progress in his second year, focusing on the development of starting quarterback Marcel Reed as a pocket passer.
This spring also provides an opportunity to invite prospects from the 2026 and 2027 recruiting classes. As reported earlier this week, over a dozen talented athletes are expected to visit College Station, which is promising as the team competes against Texas and nearly all of the other 15 SEC programs.
On Thursday, On3’s Steve Wiltfong announced that five-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho, the second-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, will be accompanied by four-star wide receiver Boobie Feaster and four-star running back Jonathan Hatton, who is set to decide between Oklahoma and Texas A&M on Saturday.
While Iheanacho may not be the top contender to join the Aggies, Hatton is considered a strong possibility. Securing his commitment would be significant as he would be the first running back for A&M’s 2026 recruiting cycle. Although early visits aren’t guaranteed indicators of commitment, having several five-star prospects from various positions on campus during spring practices is certainly a positive sign for the future.
