Sixers Could Get Key Boost with Player Upgrade vs Spurs
Lonnie Walker’s NBA comeback is set to continue in Friday’s Sixers-Spurs matchup. After facing a setback during a recent outing with the Philadelphia 76ers, Walker is likely to return to the court.
Walker encountered a major challenge in a game against the Toronto Raptors, where he played only 20 seconds before exiting after hitting his head on the floor. He was immediately ruled out and later evaluated for a concussion.
In the Sixers’ next game against the Indiana Pacers, Walker was officially diagnosed with a concussion and was sidelined. He missed four consecutive games, including the recent loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

However, Walker has now been upgraded to “probable” for Friday’s game, according to the NBA’s official injury report, and could make his return against his former team, the San Antonio Spurs.
Before the start of the 2024-2025 NBA season, Walker was aiming to play with the Boston Celtics, but after his preseason stint, the team released him. He eventually took his talents outside of the NBA but caught the attention of the Sixers post-trade deadline. Walker signed with Philadelphia ahead of their game against the Brooklyn Nets on February 22, marking the start of his tenure with the team. He has since appeared in 10 games for the Sixers.
Since rejoining the NBA, Walker has averaged eight points, three rebounds, and two assists, while attempting 4.9 threes per game at a 33% shooting rate.
If there are no further setbacks, Walker is expected to suit up for his 11th game on Friday in San Antonio, where he spent the first four years of his career.
