“It Means A Lot to Me,” 2026 CB Collin Flanigan Shares His Reaction to Vanderbilt’s Offer

Vanderbilt recently extended an offer to 2026 cornerback Collin Flanigan, and the Oxford, Mississippi native is considering a trip to Nashville soon.

As the NCAA Tournament continues and Vanderbilt prepares to play St. Mary’s in the first round on Friday, much of the focus is on basketball. However, the Commodores’ football staff, led by Clark Lea, remains busy on the recruiting trail.

Flanigan, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound cornerback, received his first SEC offer from Vanderbilt this week. Speaking with SI, Flanigan expressed how much the offer means to him personally. “It means a lot to me,” he said, adding, “It has always been a big goal of mine. Growing up in the South, SEC football was the only football I watched on TV for a long time.”

In addition to Vanderbilt, Flanigan has received offers from seven other schools: UAB, Old Dominion, Tulane, Troy, Florida International, Colorado State, and Arkansas State.

Flanigan also spoke about his growing relationship with the Commodores’ coaching staff. “I’ve been in contact with the Vandy coaches pretty heavily the last couple of days since I got the offer. Coach [Daniel] Green a lot, and some other coaches like coach [Kendall] and coach [Jamaal Richardson] have reached out and shown love.”

Looking ahead, Flanigan plans to visit Vanderbilt unofficially next weekend (03/28). He also has official visits scheduled for Tulane and FIU this summer.

Currently, Vanderbilt has two commitments for the 2026 recruiting class and is ranked No. 60 in the nation by 247Sports’ composite rankings.
