Five-Star Prospect Caleb Wilson Makes Pledge to UNC Basketball Fans
Caleb Wilson, an incoming freshman for the 2025-26 UNC basketball team, could become a key player on the roster.
There’s no doubt that Caleb Wilson, a power forward from Holy Innocents Episcopal School (Ga.), was watching the UNC basketball team’s season-ending loss to Ole Miss in the NCAA Tournament Round of 64 on Friday afternoon. However, by the time the Tar Heels take the court next, Wilson is expected to be a central figure in their lineup.

After UNC’s disappointing 2024-25 season, which saw them finish with a 14th loss despite starting the year ranked No. 9 in the AP Top 25 Poll, Wilson responded to a fan on social media with a simple yet confident promise to the disheartened Tar Heel fans: “I won’t disappoint.”
Wilson, who is ranked No. 6 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite, stands 6-foot-9 and weighs 205 pounds. The five-star prospect was named the Gatorade High School Player of the Year in Georgia and committed to Coach Hubert Davis and the Tar Heels in late January. He became the third major recruit for UNC in this cycle, joining fellow four-star recruits Derek Dixon (Gonzaga College High School, D.C.) and Isaiah Denis (Davidson Day School, N.C.), who rank No. 46 and No. 62, respectively, among their 2025 peers.
