The Los Angeles Rams have strengthened their wide receiver corps with the acquisition of Davante Adams, but the team appears to be eyeing his potential successor in the latest NFL mock draft.

With the loss of a key figure in their scouting department, James Galdstone, the Rams may alter their draft strategy this year. However, the franchise’s ability to assess talent remains strong, consistently producing impactful results.

After the success of their 2024 draft picks, the Rams are entering the 2025 NFL Draft with high hopes. But with the ever-changing landscape of the NFL, the Rams cannot afford to rest on their laurels and should look to make a big move.

In a recent mock draft by NFL.com’s Chad Reuter, the Rams focus on strengthening their future at wide receiver. While Davante Adams is still a star, his age means the Rams must plan for the future, and bringing in Isaiah Bond from Texas to learn under Adams would be a smart move for the team.

Reuter writes, “The Rams trade down in the first round to acquire a third pick in the third round, a spot where general manager Les Snead and his scouting team have excelled in recent years. They still find a top-tier talent available at No. 32 in Bond. His burst after the catch and ability to absorb (and deliver) hits despite his smaller frame give him a chance to join his Texas teammate, Matthew Golden, in Round 1.”

Bond is considered a solid wide receiver prospect, earning a 6.30 grade from NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein. This suggests that, if his career progresses well, Bond has the potential to become a valuable starter. His performance at the combine also garnered positive attention.

“I love his speed and how he opens up coverages, but if you take him, you need to get him the ball more than Texas did. He’s special as a runner,” said an NFC personnel director.

Last season, Bond recorded 540 receiving yards on 34 receptions for the Texas Longhorns, averaging 15.9 yards per catch and scoring five touchdowns.

If Bond’s explosive talent translates as expected, pairing him with Puka Nacua could solidify the Rams’ wide receiver group for the future—assuming the team calls his name on draft day.
