Jets Sign Former Jaguars WR Josh Reynolds

The New York Jets have signed former Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Josh Reynolds, officially adding him to their free agent roster on Thursday.

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported on X/Twitter that Reynolds, who played for the Denver Broncos last season, has signed a one-year deal worth up to $5 million with the Jets. Reynolds has also spent time with the Jaguars, Lions, and Titans throughout his career.

The Jaguars, in the midst of a major franchise overhaul this offseason, made significant changes by hiring new head coach Liam Coen and general manager James Gladstone. Both have laid out a vision for the team’s roster leading into the 2025 season, and unfortunately, Reynolds was not part of those plans. As a result, he was released to help free up cap space for the team, which is focusing on younger players moving forward.

Reynolds’ time with the Jaguars was brief; after being acquired in December, he played in just four games, making one catch on five targets for 11 yards. That catch came in the season finale against Indianapolis, a game the Jaguars lost in overtime.

This offseason, the Jaguars moved on from four wide receivers, including Reynolds, Christian Kirk, Devin Duvernay, and Tim Jones, who joined the Minnesota Vikings. As they head into next season, the Jaguars’ receiver group will be led by standout Brian Thomas Jr., with the team expected to add more pieces through the 2025 NFL Draft and the signing of Dyami Brown in free agency.
