Opinions are divided online about the officiating in Houston’s Sweet 16 victory over Purdue.

The Cougars triumphed 62-60, but the match was marred by a significant controversy due to a perceived missed call.

Many believe that Milos Uzan committed a push-off against Boilermakers star Braden Smith in the closing moments, which went uncalled. As a result, Houston kept possession and scored on the following inbound play to secure the win.

I just don’t understand how there isn’t a push off called here. We should be going to OT.

Internet reacts to no-call to save Houston.

Was Uzan definitely pushing off? I’m not here to second-guess the call, but it’s evident that his arm was extended.

Meanwhile, online reactions are varied, with fans expressing their thoughts about the referee not making a call when it was crucial.

Full arm extension. Should’ve been an offensive foul https://t.co/9qASwjJ4JE

The officiating has been awful during the tournament. We got a bunch of Hellen Kellers reffing these games man. https://t.co/rrNE9w8WTn

Some believe that Smith exaggerated the situation, while most others seem to think the referees let the play go in the final moments.

It’s definitely a difficult decision, as it’s not straightforward. Although it does seem like Uzan pushed off, it’s hardly a blatant offense.

Was it a foul? Yes. But was it serious enough for a referee to intervene dramatically? Clearly not.
