South Dakota State’s Oscar Cluff Visiting Purdue and Iowa State

Oscar Cluff, a standout big man from South Dakota State, is reportedly taking visits to Purdue and Iowa State. Cluff is considered one of the top players in the transfer portal this offseason.

Cluff, a 6-foot-11 center, had an impressive season at South Dakota State, averaging 17.6 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. He has one year of eligibility left. Last season, he helped lead South Dakota State to a 20-12 record and a third-place finish in the Summit League.

Before his time at South Dakota State, Cluff began his college career at Cochise College, a JUCO in Arizona. He then spent the 2023-24 season at Washington State, where he averaged 7.0 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game.

South Dakota State transfer Oscar Cluff tells @LeagueRDY he’s currently on a visit to Purdue.

Cluff also tells me he plans to head to Iowa State tomorrow following his visit to West Lafayette. He’s played the last two seasons for South Dakota State.

Purdue finished the 2024-25 season with a 24-12 record, advancing to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. The Boilermakers have a talented big man in Trey Kaufman-Renn, who averaged 20.1 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. However, they struggled with rim protection and rebounding, areas where 7-foot-4 freshman Daniel Jacobsen was expected to contribute before getting injured early in the season.

Iowa State, coming off a 25-10 record and a second-round NCAA Tournament appearance, is also looking to add size to their roster this offseason.
