MAJOR REPORTS: Dayton Flyers Face with Rather Exquisite Update on the Transfer Portal

Two players from the University of Dayton men’s basketball team have decided to enter the transfer portal.

On Monday, Dayton point guard Malachi Smith revealed his decision through a post on his Instagram account.

Additionally, UD’s backup center Isaac Jack has also put his name in the portal.

Various websites and social media accounts that monitor transfer portal activity reported the news regarding both Smith and Jack.

Smith played four seasons at Dayton but still has one year of eligibility left. He was sidelined for the entire 2023-24 season due to a knee injury he suffered in the first game of the season.

This past season, he averaged 10.4 points per game and started 31 out of 33 games.

Jack averaged over three points per game during his two seasons with the Flyers. He joined Dayton in 2023 and also has one season of eligibility remaining.

This past season, the Flyers finished with a record of 23-11 and were eliminated in the second round of the 2025 NIT by Chattanooga.
