NC State basketball is pursuing a sharpshooting Washington transfer in Tyler Harris.

Since taking over as head coach of the NC State basketball program about two weeks ago, Will Wade has been deliberate in assembling his first Wolfpack roster.

So far, the team has only secured one commitment from the transfer portal: Alyn Breed, a guard who transferred from McNeese State and was a former player of Wade’s.

Breed’s commitment earlier this week could signal the start of a recruiting surge, as Wade and his staff hosted another transfer for a visit on the same day Breed committed.

Washington transfer guard Tyler Harris visited NC State on Wednesday, as confirmed by NC State Wolfpack On SI.

Harris entered the transfer portal on Monday, with no details emerging about his recruitment until his visit to Raleigh.

The 6-foot-8, 190-pound sophomore played for Washington this past season after starting his career at Portland. As a full-time starter for the Huskies, Harris averaged 11.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, shooting 45-for-91 from beyond the arc, which is a 49.5 percent success rate.

This visit could potentially lead to a commitment, making him just the fifth player added to NC State’s 2025-26 roster.
