UNC Star RJ Davis Sends “BOLD” Four-Word Message to UNC Star After Transfer Portal Decision

North Carolina Tar Heels guard RJ Davis recently wrapped up his fifth and final season with the team, leaving behind a legacy as one of the program’s all-time greats. UNC entered the NCAA Tournament as the No. 11 seed in the South Region but suffered a tough loss to the Ole Miss Rebels. Following the early exit from March Madness, a few players announced plans to transfer, including forward Jalen Washington. Washington later committed to Vanderbilt. After his decision, Davis showed his support by sending him a message: “Go be great gango,” he wrote.

Jalen Washington was part of the North Carolina Tar Heels for three seasons. In his final year with the team, he posted averages of 5.7 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. The skilled forward carved out a significant role in UNC’s rotation, earning starts in 16 of the team’s 36 games. Over the course of his three-year career at North Carolina, Washington averaged 4.2 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.

RJ Davis closed out his fifth season with the UNC Tar Heels by averaging 17.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. Across his five-year career with the program, he posted overall averages of 15.6 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.
