Knicks Could Receive Key Injury Return Ahead of Detroit Pistons Game
Next week, the Detroit Pistons will face the New York Knicks in what could be a potential playoff preview.
After their matchup against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night, the Knicks will look ahead to games against the Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons. If everything goes as planned, the Knicks are set to receive a significant boost, with Jalen Brunson making his return to the lineup after a long absence.
Heading into their Saturday afternoon game against the Atlanta Hawks, the Knicks were expecting to play without Brunson again. However, NBA Insider Chris Haynes reported before the game that Brunson would return against the Suns.
According to Haynes: “New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson (ankle) will make his return Sunday at home against the Phoenix Suns after missing the last 15 games, league sources tell me.”

Sunday will mark one month since Brunson last played. On March 6, he suffered an ankle injury during a 41-minute performance against the Los Angeles Lakers. Despite recording a double-double with 39 points and 10 assists, the Knicks lost 113-109.
After being sidelined with the injury, Brunson missed 15 games but could make his return on Sunday.
The Pistons will likely face the Knicks multiple times this month, with Thursday marking their second and final regular-season meeting. If the standings hold, the two teams could meet in a seven-game series for the first round of the 2025 NBA Playoffs.
