Cowboys Make Bold Move to Secure Key WR in Latest NFL Mock Draft
In a daring trade, the Dallas Cowboys make a significant push to acquire the WR2 they’ve been missing in the latest NFL mock draft. As the draft approaches, the Cowboys are focusing on addressing key areas, with a standout wide receiver opposite CeeDee Lamb being a top priority.
Dallas is keen to add playmakers to their offense, and in this mock draft, they are making an aggressive move to secure their target. Ian Valentino of The 33rd Team predicts the Cowboys will trade into the top 10 to select Tetairoa McMillan, a 6-foot-4 wide receiver from Arizona.
“Dallas is the next team to trade up, aiming to outmaneuver the Raiders for a playmaker,” writes Valentino. “McMillan is the ideal fit alongside Lamb, offering elite size and the ability to make plays after the catch.”
Valentino also points out that pairing McMillan with Lamb would provide Dak Prescott with two unique receiving threats, making his job easier. This strategy also allows Dallas to focus on a running back in the second round, instead of drafting a non-premium position at No. 12.
Last season, McMillan recorded 84 receptions for 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns, marking his second straight year surpassing the 1,000-yard mark. His impressive size and ball skills would complement Lamb’s ability to work the middle of the field, making McMillan an ideal addition. If the Cowboys can land McMillan in the first round and address their running back needs in round two, it would be a promising start to the draft and excite Cowboys fans.
The 2025 NFL Draft will take place in Green Bay, Wisconsin, with the first round on Thursday, April 24. Rounds 2 and 3 will be on Friday, April 25, and the final rounds will be held on Saturday, April 26.
