Ohio State Positioned to Outpace SEC Rivals for Nation’s Top Safety Recruit
Bralan Womack, a highly sought-after 4-star safety in the class of 2026, appears ready to commit to the Ohio State Buckeyes soon.
Womack, from Flowood, Mississippi, recently visited Columbus for an unofficial trip where he attended practice and toured the facilities. He shared on social media that he met senior linebacker Sonny Styles, who was regarded as the top safety recruit when he was a 5-star in the class of 2022 and later committed to Ohio State. It seems Womack could be following a similar path.
Speaking with On3 after the visit, Womack made it clear that Ohio State is currently at the top of his list. “Ohio State is No. 1 now. I’m just ready to get back for my official visit,” he said.
This is a significant development for Ohio State, as Womack is an elite talent. Ranked by 247Sports as a 4-star recruit, he is also considered the top safety in the nation, similar to how Styles was viewed during his recruitment.
Womack’s top four schools also include Auburn, Texas A&M, and Florida, but Ohio State leading the pack is a major win for head coach Ryan Day and the Buckeyes. His official visit is already scheduled for June 20, and the fact that Womack is discussing it publicly is a promising sign for Ohio State.
The Buckeyes are in a strong position in this recruitment battle, highlighting their strengths and pitching the opportunity to be developed into a first-round talent. “Their message to me was to come be a part of something special and be developed and become another first-rounder,” Womack said.
Womack is also ranked as the No. 12 overall player in the country by 247Sports.
