FIU Secures Commitment from Holy Cross Quarterback Joe Pesansky
On Tuesday, FIU football announced the commitment of Holy Cross transfer quarterback Joe Pesansky, who will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Last season, Pesansky started all 12 games for the Crusaders, completing 176 passes for 2,399 yards, 19 touchdowns, and six interceptions. On the ground, he rushed for 173 yards and one touchdown on 62 carries.
A native of Tampa, Florida, Pesansky attended Jesuit High School and has been with the Holy Cross program for the past four years. He previously served as a backup to former Holy Cross quarterback Matthew Sluka, who transferred to UNLV and left the program abruptly early in the 2024 season due to an NIL dispute.

Pesansky’s career at Holy Cross includes a modest start, appearing in four games as a freshman in 2021, completing two passes for 15 yards. During his sophomore year in 2022, he played in seven games and threw nine passes for 104 yards. In 2023, he appeared in seven games, including two starts.
At FIU, Pesansky will join a crowded quarterback room that includes Keyone Jenkins, the starting quarterback, along with Clayton Dees, Chayden Peery, Zachary Waters, Christian Langford, and Jake Helfrich.
