Eagles Labeled a ‘Special’ Landing Spot for All-Pro Safety

The Philadelphia Eagles already boast a strong roster, but they may still be looking to bolster their defense—particularly at the safety position, which became a concern after trading away C.J. Gardner-Johnson.

This need has been widely discussed in recent weeks, and one name continues to surface: four-time All-Pro safety Justin Simmons. Simmons has openly expressed interest in potentially joining the Eagles this offseason.

“Going to Philly with [Vic Fangio], you’d know exactly what to expect from me, and I’d know what to expect from them because I’ve played in that system,” Simmons told Kay Adams on Up & Adams. “I’m still learning it in some areas, but I understand the nuances that Vic and Christian Parker like.”

Simmons also mentioned the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals as other teams he’d be interested in joining.

“Teams like Buffalo, Philly, Cincinnati… Those teams have always been in the mix. And with Philly just winning it last year, it would be special,” he said.

All three teams are legitimate contenders, with the Eagles and Bills seen as top Super Bowl threats heading into next season, and the Bengals still in the mix as well.

While Simmons remains one of the most talented free agents available, his next move might come post-draft, as teams may be mindful of the compensatory pick formula. If the Eagles are serious about landing him, they may need to make a strong push soon.
