Tristan Lennox recalled by the Islanders for first time in his career
On Thursday, the New York Islanders made an emergency recall of Tristan Lennox, who practiced with the team in place of Ilya Sorokin, who was sidelined with a lower body injury during the morning skate. This marks Lennox’s first call-up to the NHL.
Selected in the third round (93rd overall) by the Islanders, Lennox has played four games with Bridgeport this season, recording a 0-3-0 record along with a 4.44 GAA and an .832 SV%. His season has been affected by an injury sustained last year while playing in the ECHL.
Before starting his professional career, Lennox spent five seasons with the OHL’s Saginaw Spirit, achieving a record of 59-45-7, a 3.26 GAA, an .887 SV%, and four shutouts.
With Sorokin out, Marcus Hogberg is anticipated to be the starting goaltender on Thursday night against the New York Rangers.
