NC State Basketball Emerging as Early Contender for Alabama Transfer Jarin Stevenson

NC State is already making waves in the transfer portal under new head coach Will Wade, and the latest target on their radar is Alabama forward Jarin Stevenson.

Just hours after Stevenson announced his decision to enter the transfer portal on Wednesday, On3’s Jamie Shaw reported that NC State is one of two programs to keep an eye on in his recruitment. The other? Their in-state rival, the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Stevenson, a 6-foot-11, 215-pound sophomore, started in more than half of his appearances with the Crimson Tide this past season. He averaged 5.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and shot 30.7% from beyond the arc. With NC State’s frontcourt depth thin heading into the 2025–26 season—aside from four-star recruit Zymicah Wilkins—Stevenson could be a key addition to bolster the Wolfpack’s interior presence.

So far, Coach Wade has already landed two former McNeese State players—Alyn Breed and Quadir Copeland—for his first transfer class at NC State. Adding Stevenson would further strengthen the team’s foundation as Wade looks to reshape the program in his first year at the helm.
