The North Carolina Tar Heels are known for having one of the most prestigious programs in college basketball history, but the 2024-25 season was not one of their standout years. They secured a spot in the men’s NCAA Tournament by beating San Diego State in the First Four round, but were eliminated in their first game of the tournament, losing 71-64 to Ole Miss. Seth Trimble, a junior guard hailing from Wisconsin, contributed nine points, four rebounds, and one steal in 27 minutes off the bench during the defeat. He has announced his decision to remain at Chapel Hill for the upcoming 2025-26 season.

Trimble has steadily increased his performance throughout his time with the Tar Heels. This season, he averaged 11.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 1.3 assists per game, while also enhancing his free throw shooting to 82.1%.

Standing at 6 feet 3 inches and weighing 195 pounds, he might need to take on a larger role next season with RJ Davis heading to the NBA and several other players entering the transfer portal. Trimble possesses impressive athleticism and speed, and he often energizes North Carolina’s defense. His return will significantly strengthen the backcourt and enhance the team’s competitiveness.
