Notre Dame Secures Commitment from Five-Star EDGE Rodney Dunham, Beating Out South Carolina and Georgia
Five-star EDGE prospect Rodney Dunham, a top recruit in the 2026 class, has announced his commitment to Notre Dame, choosing the Fighting Irish over South Carolina and Georgia.
On April 10th, Dunham made his decision, officially removing one of the nation’s top recruits from the board. The 6’4″, 230-pound EDGE rusher from Myers Park, North Carolina, had been a key target for Georgia, which currently holds five commits in the 2026 class and is in pursuit of several top prospects under head coach Kirby Smart.
Dunham had planned to take official visits to Georgia, South Carolina, Duke, Notre Dame, and Tennessee, but with his commitment to Notre Dame now confirmed, it remains to be seen if he will follow through with the full schedule of visits.
Georgia has already secured two defensive commits for the 2026 class: safety Zechariah Fort from IMG Academy and JUCO prospect Seven Cloud. The Bulldogs are set to host more top-tier recruits in the coming months as official visit periods intensify across college football.
