Another Kansas State Wide Receiver Enters the Transfer Portal
Kansas State has now seen its fourth wide receiver enter the NCAA transfer portal, as Trae Davis announced Tuesday via X (formerly Twitter) that he will be transferring, retaining all four years of eligibility.
“I’d like to begin by thanking God for this journey and the opportunity to play Division I football, along with all the blessings He has given me,” Davis wrote in his post. “I also want to express my gratitude to Kansas State, the coaches, and my teammates for welcoming and supporting me. With that said, I am officially entering the transfer portal with four years of eligibility remaining.”
Davis, a 5-foot-11, 164-pound receiver from Troup, Texas, was a four-star prospect according to 247 Sports. He initially committed to Washington State before flipping to Kansas State, where he redshirted last season.

He becomes the 15th Kansas State player—and the fourth wide receiver—to enter the portal, following Keagan Johnson (New Mexico), Erwin Nash (Northwest Missouri State), and Tre Spivey III (Arizona).
Davis’s decision comes as the Wildcats bolster their receiving corps, adding Jaron Tibbs (Purdue) and Jerand Bradley (Boston College), along with three incoming wideouts in the 2025 class. Despite the turnover, Kansas State retains leading receiver Jayce Brown, who tallied 823 yards last season.
