Veteran West Coast Guard Draws Interest from NC State Basketball

NC State has reportedly expressed interest in Oregon transfer guard Jadrian Tracey as new head coach Will Wade continues prioritizing experienced backcourt players in assembling his first Wolfpack roster.

Since taking over the program, Wade has made it clear that building around veteran guards is a central focus. That approach has already brought in familiar faces from his time at McNeese State, with Alyn Breed and Quadir Copeland committing to NC State. The Wolfpack has also been actively pursuing several other guard options in the transfer portal.

According to CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, Oregon’s Jadrian Tracey is the latest name connected to NC State. Tracey, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound guard, spent the last two seasons with the Ducks after beginning his collegiate career at Saint Joseph’s. He worked his way into the starting lineup at Oregon before experiencing a more limited role during his senior year.

In the 2023–24 season, Tracey averaged 6.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists while shooting an efficient 47.9% from the field and 34.0% from three-point range.

NC State isn’t alone in its pursuit—Tracey has also drawn interest from Cincinnati, Florida State, George Washington, Maryland, New Mexico State, Rutgers, South Florida, UCF, USC, Utah State, and VCU.
