Maryland Football Loses Another Offensive Lineman to the Transfer Portal

As the spring transfer portal window approaches, the Maryland Terrapins are bracing for additional roster changes. On Monday, another offensive lineman, Tamarus Walker, announced his decision to enter the portal.

Walker, a former three-star recruit from the Terps’ 2023 recruiting class, appeared in nine games for Maryland during the 2024 season. Now, the 6-foot-3, 322-pound guard is looking for a fresh start elsewhere.

“After careful consideration and discussions with my family and loved ones, I have decided to enter the transfer portal,” Walker shared in a statement posted on Twitter/X. “I’m excited for what the future holds and look forward to continuing my growth as a student-athlete.”

Walker is the latest in a series of departures from Maryland’s offensive line this offseason. The Terps lost Andre Roye to the portal in February and Terez Davis, a projected starter for the upcoming season, followed suit last weekend. While these losses are a setback, head coach Mike Locksley has bolstered the offensive line by bringing in two new players via the transfer portal: Rhatrel Perry and Jayvin James. Both are expected to play significant roles this fall.
