Cincinnati Bearcats Hit with Huge Mega Update

Cincinnati Football and Basketball Pursue New Talent Through Transfer Portal

The transfer portal is open for both football and basketball, and Cincinnati is actively seeking fresh talent in both sports.

On the football side, UC has extended an offer to defensive tackle Mike Yoan Sandjo-Njiki from SMU. The 6-2, 302-pound player has one year of eligibility remaining after seeing limited action in 2023, playing just 34 snaps. Despite the limited playing time, he earned a solid 71.4 Pro Football Focus grade over 159 snaps last season.

Additionally, the football team is set to host Southern Illinois defensive tackle Elijah Gunn for a visit on April 21 after offering him this week. The 6-3, 290-pound Gunn has three seasons of eligibility left and recorded 20 tackles last season, earning a 67.3 PFF grade over 300 snaps.

On the basketball front, UC has shown interest in Southeast Missouri State guard Teddy Washington. The 6-2, 175-pound player, who may have up to two years of eligibility remaining due to new JuCo rules, averaged 13.9 points and 5.4 rebounds last season on 38.6% shooting, according to The Portal Report.
