Jets Could Target $57 Million Tight End from Super Bowl Champs

The New York Jets are looking to add a tight end this offseason, especially after losing Tyler Conklin in free agency. While they’ve had an exciting start to their offseason, there’s still more work to be done.

The Jets have been linked to Penn State tight end Tyler Warren as a potential pick with their No. 7 spot in the NFL Draft, but there’s always the chance they go in a different direction.

This could prompt them to explore trade opportunities for a tight end instead.

Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton recently mentioned that the Philadelphia Eagles could consider trading their starting tight end, Dallas Goedert, though Moton didn’t specify any potential destinations.

“Goedert is in a tricky position as he’s entering the final year of his contract without guaranteed money, and with a strong tight end class coming into the draft,” Moton wrote. “The Eagles could opt for a younger, cheaper option to replace Goedert, who has missed 15 games in the last three seasons.”

Given the depth of this year’s tight end draft class, it might be difficult for the Eagles to trade an aging player with an injury history. Still, if Philadelphia selects a tight end within the first three rounds, they may look to move on from Goedert.

If the Jets decide to pass on Warren and go for another prospect like Armand Membou, a trade for Goedert could make a lot of sense.

Adding a veteran like Goedert would also help Justin Fields, who could use a reliable tight end, particularly if the wide receiver group remains thin. Bringing in a proven player like Goedert would provide Fields the safety net he needs to thrive.
