Oklahoma men’s basketball forward Jalon Moore took a moment to bid an emotional farewell to Sooner Nation as he prepares to embark on the next chapter of his career and life.
Moore capped off his time as a Sooner, having spent his last two college seasons at OU. He exhausted his eligibility this season, with his career concluding following the Sooners’ defeat to UConn in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

On Thursday, Moore shared his gratitude and farewell on X.
“These past two years have been filled with so many unforgettable moments on and off the court,” Moore expressed.
He went on to thank Jesus, head coach Porter Moser, the entire OU coaching staff, his teammates, and Sooner Nation.
“You welcomed me with warmth and support, and for that, I will be a Sooner for life,” Moore stated. “I am excited to embrace this next chapter and eager to see what God has in store for me.”

Moore joined OU in 2023 after transferring from Georgia Tech, where he began his career and played for two seasons. Upon arriving in Norman, his playing time and statistics soared.
In the 2023-24 season, the 6-foot-7 forward averaged 11.2 points per game, an increase from his previous average of 7.6. This past season, he further improved his performance, leading the Sooners with an average of 15.9 points until late in the season when Jeremiah Fears began to excel. Moore also recorded an average of 5.8 rebounds and a career-best 30.3 minutes on the court.
What lies ahead for Moore remains uncertain. While he may not be a top candidate for the NBA Draft, he still has the potential to pursue opportunities as an undrafted free agent or play overseas if he chooses to continue his basketball journey.
