While Caitlin Clark is now the prominent figure of the Indiana Fever, her name will forever be linked to Iowa Hawkeye basketball. During her time at Iowa, Clark was incredibly dominant, breaking numerous records, including becoming the all-time leading scorer in NCAA Division I history (men’s or women’s). She achieved accolades such as being a four-time first-team USBWA and WBCA All-American, a three-time unanimous first-team All-American, a three-time first-team AP All-American, a two-time AP Player of the Year, a two-time Naismith College Player of the Year, and a two-time Wooden Award winner. Additionally, she led Division I in scoring and assists three times, along with leading in 3-point shooting twice.
Earlier this year, Clark returned to Iowa to have her jersey retired, and she will be back at Carver-Hawkeye Arena soon to host a sold-out preseason game against the Brazilian National Team. Iowa announced a slight adjustment to the game time, stating, “TIME CHANGE. We’re tipping off at 3 p.m. CT on May 4th in Iowa City!” Clark reacted to this update with a playful response on Instagram: “Will rearrange my calendar.” Fans appreciated her witty and lighthearted reply, sharing their delight on social media.

“She’s the ultimate social media wild card because she never takes herself too seriously, lol,” one fan commented. Clark is coming off one of the most remarkable rookie seasons in WNBA history, having won Rookie of the Year nearly unanimously and finishing fourth in the MVP voting. She set multiple records for the WNBA, the rookie category, and the Fever, while also leading the league in assists. The Fever’s preseason kicks off on May 3 against the Washington Mystics, followed by a game against Brazil on May 4 and against the Atlanta Dream on May 10. Indiana will open the regular season at home on May 17 against Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky.
