UNC basketball has now seen a handful of talents go the transfer route.

Late Monday morning, just under 40 hours before the transfer portal deadline, UNC basketball forward Ven-Allen Lubin announced his intention to enter the portal.

Despite this decision, Lubin has indicated that he may still consider returning to Chapel Hill for his senior season, as confirmed by North Carolina Tar Heels On SI.

The 6-foot-8, 230-pound forward from Florida joined the 2024-25 UNC basketball roster after transferring from Vanderbilt about a year ago, following his freshman year at Notre Dame.

Initially having a limited role under fourth-year head coach Hubert Davis, Lubin eventually became a full-time starter and a reliable presence in the post during the latter part of the season. He averaged 8.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks per game over 19.6 minutes, shooting 68.4 percent from the field and 71.1 percent from the free-throw line.

Lubin is the fifth Tar Heel to join the transfer portal in this cycle, following Elliot Cadeau, Jalen Washington, Ian Jackson, and Cade Tyson
