Auburn Football Gets Another Commitment Blockbuster Out of Transfer Portal

Auburn football secured its second defensive line transfer of the spring window on Monday. Former Florida A&M defensive tackle James Ash shared his commitment to the Tigers on Instagram after reportedly visiting the campus over the weekend. He becomes the third defensive line transfer to join Auburn this offseason, following Jay Hardy and Dallas Walker IV.

Ash spent three seasons at Florida A&M after beginning his college career at Wake Forest. During his time there, he recorded a total of 86 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, two and a half sacks, three pass deflections, and one interception.

According to Pro Football Focus, he achieved the third-highest defensive grade among SWAC defensive linemen last season and earned a spot on the second team All-SWAC.

With Ash joining the team, Auburn’s interior defensive line rotation now features six newcomers and three returning players. Among the newcomers, three are freshmen, so Ash, along with fellow transfers Walker and Hardy, brings valuable experience to the lineup.
