Illinois has added another talented international player to its roster, securing Serbian point guard Mihailo Petrovic, who joins a growing group of players from the Balkans. Petrovic, who is currently a professional player in Europe, has been making waves in the Adriatic League, where he’s averaged 14.3 points and 7.3 assists per game, earning recognition in MVP conversations. At 22 years old, his experience and skill set position him to step into the point guard role previously held by international-born guard Kasparas Jakucionis, who is headed to the NBA.
