Tennessee Volunteers Make Final Cut for Four-Star Prospect Brayden Rouse

Will the Volunteers edge out Michigan, Alabama, and Texas for Rouse?

Four-star linebacker Brayden Rouse has narrowed his recruitment down to four schools, announcing his final choices on his X page. The schools in contention are Alabama, Michigan, Tennessee, and Texas.

Rouse has also finalized his official visit schedule. He will visit Alabama from May 30 to June 1, Michigan from June 6 to 8, Texas from June 13 to 15, and Tennessee from June 20 to 22. Before narrowing his list, Rouse held 45 scholarship offers, according to 247Sports.

Tennessee has remained a strong contender in Rouse’s recruitment, with the linebacker visiting Knoxville multiple times, including a recent trip on April 12. He also attended Tennessee’s Junior Day, a key event where colleges showcase their interest in top recruits. The Volunteers have consistently demonstrated their commitment to Rouse, emphasizing that he is a top priority for their program.

Rouse is ranked as a four-star prospect, the No. 7 linebacker nationally, the No. 19 player in Georgia, and the No. 156 overall player, according to On3. He has seen his stock rise in both the 247Sports and On3 rankings.

I’ve narrowed my recruitment down to four schools. I’m grateful to all the coaches who have recruited me on this journey and i’m thankful for their interest, but i will be doing my official visits with these four schools.

Coming off a standout season at Kell High School, Rouse recorded 105 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and five pass breakups. On offense, he caught 25 passes for 378 yards and scored eight touchdowns.

What makes Rouse an elite linebacker is his versatility. He excels as an edge rusher, capable of disrupting plays in the backfield, and is a strong presence in setting the edge to stop opposing offenses. Additionally, his ability to cover tight ends and receivers as a weakside linebacker is exceptional. One of his standout skills is his open-field tackling, where he is one of the best in one-on-one situations.

The Volunteers are in for a tough battle to secure Rouse, one of the top linebacker recruits in the country. Tennessee will be the final program he visits during the official visit period, and while the Volunteers have an edge, Michigan, Texas, and Alabama are all pushing hard for his commitment. Will Tennessee be able to land this blue-chip prospect?
