Maryland Football Extends Offer to Transfer Prospect from Alabama A&M
As they continue to build their roster for the 2025 season, the Maryland Terrapins have made another move in the transfer portal. On Wednesday, Maryland offered defensive lineman Sedrick Smith a spot on the team. The three-star transfer played in 11 games for Alabama A&M in 2024, recording 20 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks.
Standing 6-4 and weighing 310 pounds, Smith began his college career with South Carolina State as part of the 2023 recruiting class before transferring to Alabama A&M last year.
Following the departure of offensive lineman Jayvin James to the portal, Maryland now has 10 players committed to their incoming transfer class, including quarterback Justyn Martin, offensive tackle Rahtrel Perry, wide receiver Jalil Farooq, and cornerback Jamare Glasker.

Head coach Mike Locksley has already secured three transfers for the defensive line—Cam Rice, DD Holmes, and Eyan Thomas—and by offering Smith a spot, it’s clear that Locksley is focused on bolstering the defensive front heading into next season.
