Minnesota Vikings Add Another Undrafted Auburn Linebacker
The Minnesota Vikings have signed another linebacker from Auburn, bringing their total number of former Tigers to four. Austin Keys joins linebacker Dorian Mausi (Auburn’s leader in tackles), wide receiver Robert Lewis, and punter Oscar Chapman as new additions to the team.
Keys, who transferred to Auburn after three seasons at Ole Miss (where he redshirted in 2020), played in 22 games for the Rebels, recording 51 tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. During his time at Auburn, he appeared in 20 games, accumulating 69 tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, four pass deflections, and one forced fumble. Over his college career, Keys played in 42 games and totaled 120 tackles, nine tackles for loss, four sacks, four pass deflections, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.
The Vikings’ linebacker group has grown significantly, especially after the 2025 NFL Draft and the influx of undrafted signings. With veteran starters like Jonathan Greenard, Blake Cashman, and Andrew Van Ginkel already in place, Keys will need to stand out to secure a spot on the team, possibly aiming for a third-string role or at least a place on the practice squad. Competing with his Auburn teammate Dorian Mausi—who’s known for his playmaking ability—could make it tough for Keys. The upcoming OTAs will be the first real opportunity for these players to prove themselves and earn a spot on the roster.
