Steelers Sign Indiana WR Ke’Shawn Williams
The Pittsburgh Steelers have added another skill position player to their undrafted free agent class, continuing their focus on enhancing their offensive depth.
Steelers Senior Director of Communications Burt Lauten announced on Twitter that the team has reached an agreement with Indiana wide receiver Ke’Shawn Williams. He joins other undrafted signings like Memphis wide receiver Roc Taylor, South Alabama fullback DJ Thomas-Jones, and South Dakota tight end JJ Galbreath.
Williams, a native of Philadelphia, began his college career at Wake Forest after excelling at Springside Chestnut Hill Academy in high school. A member of the Class of 2020, he recorded three catches for 44 yards in eight games as a freshman.
In 2021, during Wake Forest’s ACC Championship run and 11-3 season, Williams had a breakout year, totaling 404 yards and three touchdowns on 27 receptions over 14 games. He followed that with a solid 2022 season, catching 39 passes for 553 yards and one touchdown while earning Academic All-ACC honors. In 2023, his final year at Wake Forest, Williams recorded 384 yards and a touchdown on 38 receptions.

Williams transferred to Indiana for his final collegiate season, helping the team reach the College Football Playoff with an 11-2 record. He posted 448 yards and five touchdowns on 39 receptions for the Hoosiers.
At his Pro Day in March, Williams ran a 4.51-second 40-yard dash and measured 5-foot-9, 188 pounds. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein ranked Williams as a seventh-round/priority free-agent prospect, noting that while his catch radius is limited, his toughness and hand strength make him a reliable target. Zierlein highlighted Williams’ ability to thrive in short and intermediate routes and his success in catch-and-run situations, making him difficult to bring down. Additionally, his potential as a kick and punt returner adds value to his chances of making the roster.
