Iowa Hawkeyes Receives Major Update on Monday

As the Indiana Fever kicked off their training camp on Sunday, the preseason is just a few days away. This year, they will participate in three exhibition games before the regular season starts. Caitlin Clark is set to return to Carver-Hawkeye Arena to compete against the Brazilian national team in the second preseason matchup. The former No. 1 overall pick spent four years at this arena, establishing herself as the greatest player in the program’s history and one of the top college athletes of all time. A year after leaving the team to join the WNBA, the guard will once again play in front of the fans who turned her into a media sensation.

In the days leading up to the big game, ESPN released news confirming that Caitlin Clark’s return to the University of Iowa will be broadcast on Sunday. The matchup, set to begin at 4 p.m. ET, got a significant update on Monday. While the specific platform is still to be announced, fans of Clark and the Fever will have the opportunity to watch the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year in action.

The game is scheduled for the day after the Fever begin their preseason against the Washington Mystics at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Their three-game preseason will conclude on May 10 with a matchup against the Atlanta Dream at Gateway Center. Clark and her team will face a tough test to open the 2025 WNBA season, hosting the Chicago Sky, led by Angel Reese, on May 17. The game, set to be broadcast on ABC/ESPN and Disney+, is expected to set records due to the long-standing rivalry between Clark and Reese from their college days.
