Texas Tech Exodus Persists as Another Player Joins Transfer Portal

Texas Tech Cornerback Isaiah Collins Enters Transfer Portal

Texas Tech will be losing a young cornerback as Isaiah Collins has announced his decision to enter the transfer portal. Collins, a three-star recruit from Huntsville, Texas, was part of the Red Raiders’ 2024 class. According to 247Sports, he was ranked as the 79th-best player in Texas and the 45th-best cornerback in the nation.

In a statement shared on social media, Collins expressed gratitude toward Texas Tech: “I would like to thank Texas Tech for everything they’ve done for me, I’m blessed to have had the opportunity to be around a great team, staff, and academic advisors. After much thought and prayer, I’ve decided to enter the transfer portal with 4 years of eligibility!!!”

Despite his talent, Collins didn’t see playing time during his freshman year in Lubbock. With Texas Tech adding three experienced cornerbacks through the transfer portal, Collins likely felt that pursuing a new opportunity would be the best move for his future.
