Indiana has landed a commitment from 2026 defensive back prospect Lawrence Timmons.
The IU football program has secured a promising addition to their 2026 recruiting class with the commitment of Lawrence Timmons from Pine-Richland High School in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound defensive back visited Bloomington for an official visit this past weekend, making him the sixth commitment for the Hoosiers in this recruiting class.
Timmons chose Indiana over offers from several other schools, including Iowa, Maryland, Wisconsin, Iowa State, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Virginia, West Virginia, Akron, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Eastern Michigan, Miami (OH), South Florida, Temple, Toledo, UConn, UNLV, Delaware, and Sacramento State.
The three-star prospect expressed his admiration for the winning culture cultivated by head coach Curt Cignetti and his staff during a junior day visit earlier this year.
“You can tell the coaches have a winning mindset,” Timmons shared about the Hoosiers. “Every coach there is used to winning and knows how to achieve it.”
Coming from the same high school as former IU standout Mike Katic, Timmons is ranked as the number 13 prospect in Pennsylvania and the 32nd cornerback in the nation according to 247Sports. In his junior season, he tallied 42 tackles, four interceptions, three tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and one sack. Notably, he returned two interceptions for touchdowns and also scored on two fumble recoveries. The Hoosiers are recruiting Timmons as a safety.
