Arizona Basketball Lands Another Top International Talent

Arizona Basketball Adds Another Top International Recruit

Tommy Lloyd and the Arizona men’s basketball coaching staff have been hard at work recently. After securing a commitment from Sidi Gueye, they’ve now added a second international prospect for the 2025-26 season.

Mabilmawut Kon Mabil, a nearly 7-foot South Sudanese player who has been part of the NBA Africa Academy, has committed to Arizona.

Mabil most recently played for Our Saviour Lutheran School in New York. He will join fellow recruits Sidi Gueye, Koa Peat, Brayden Burries, and Bryce James in the incoming freshman class.

With the departure of KJ Lewis, Henri Veesaar, Emmanuel Stephen, and Conrad Martinez, Lloyd will need players who can fill key roles. Additionally, Arizona could be without Carter Bryant, who has declared for the NBA Draft, further emphasizing the need for new talent.
