Wide Receiver Logan Ramper Commits to West Virginia
West Virginia has bolstered its wide receiver corps by adding transfer Logan Ramper from Slippery Rock. The commitment came quickly after Ramper entered the transfer portal on April 30th, with his decision finalized during a visit starting on May 2nd.
Standing at 6’4″ and weighing 215 pounds, Ramper spent his entire college career at Slippery Rock, though his early years were less impactful. He appeared in just four games as a freshman and redshirt freshman, contributing little in 2021 and 2022. However, his role expanded significantly in 2023, when he played in 14 games and posted 32 receptions for 417 yards and six touchdowns.
In his final season with the Rock in 2024, Ramper delivered a standout performance, recording 42 catches for 748 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 17.8 yards per reception. His most impressive game came in the Division II playoffs, especially during the semifinal against Ferris State, where he caught eight passes for 171 yards and three touchdowns.
Ramper joins a crowded wide receiver group at West Virginia but brings a unique asset with his size. At 6’4″, he becomes the Mountaineers’ tallest receiver and is expected to line up on the outside alongside Cam Vaughn, Jaden Bray, Jeff Weimer, Justin Smith-Brown, Christian Hamilton, and others.
Ramper had offers from Buffalo, Delaware, Pitt, Temple, UTEP, and Western Michigan, among others. He will have one year of eligibility remaining but could potentially gain an additional year due to his time at the Division II level.
