South Carolina Transfer Morris Ugusuk Chooses West Virginia
West Virginia’s basketball program has added its third guard to the roster with the commitment of Morris Ugusuk, a transfer from South Carolina.
Last season, Ugusuk averaged 5.9 points per game, shooting 38.4% from the field and 40.7% from three-point range, along with 1.4 rebounds per game as a sophomore. He had a standout performance against Vanderbilt, scoring a career-high 20 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the field and 3-of-4 from beyond the arc, surpassing his previous high of 18 points against Indiana.
During his first season with the Gamecocks, Ugusuk recorded an 11-point game against Florida A&M and followed that up with 10 points against Missouri in SEC play.
A native of Helsinki, Finland, Ugusuk still has two years of eligibility left.
He becomes the eighth transfer to join the Mountaineers’ basketball program.
