Saints-Titans Caught Up In $9 Million Trade

Saints-Titans Rumored to Be in $9 Million Trade Talks

Could the New Orleans Saints be looking to make another quarterback move this offseason?

After drafting Tyler Shough in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, the Saints have some wondering if they might target another quarterback. While it might seem unnecessary given they already have four quarterbacks on the roster, the speculation persists. If healthy, Derek Carr is expected to be the starter, though that’s not guaranteed. Behind him, Shough appears to be the next option, but Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener also remain in the mix.

Despite this, Cory Woodroof of USA Today Sports included a trade scenario in which the Saints acquire Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis. Woodroof suggests that if Carr is unavailable for the 2025 season, the Saints could find themselves in a quarterback competition between Shough and Rattler. In this case, adding another quarterback like Levis could give New Orleans more options.

“Levis, with his big arm and potential, could be an interesting fit alongside new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore,” Woodroof noted. “While Levis has his flaws, and was benched at Tennessee for a reason, Moore might help him unlock his full potential. The Titans, in turn, could acquire Jake Haener to compete for their backup role.”

Levis still has two years left on his four-year, $9.5 million rookie deal. Given the current quarterback situation in New Orleans, it might not make sense to acquire him just yet. If one of the Saints’ quarterbacks, perhaps Carr due to injury, becomes unavailable, then the trade could be more plausible. For now, the team has other priorities.
