Notre Dame Becomes Major Contender to Flip USC WR Commit
Could Notre Dame be on the verge of flipping a former USC commit?
The rivalry between Notre Dame and USC remains intense both on the field and in recruiting battles. The latest recruiting news could have a significant impact on both programs, as Notre Dame appears to be making a strong push to lure a USC commitment to South Bend.

Kohen Brown, a three-star wide receiver from Waxahachie, Texas, originally committed to USC on April 2. However, his commitment didn’t last long. About five weeks later, Brown announced that he was decommitting from the Trojans.
“After a lot of thought and meaningful conversations with my family, I’ve decided to decommit from USC,” Brown wrote on X. “I want to sincerely thank the coaching staff and everyone at USC for all the support and belief in me. I truly appreciate everything they’ve done. At this point, I feel it’s best for me to reopen my recruitment 100 percent. Thank you all for understanding and for the continued support – it means a lot to me.”

Notre Dame had already made waves with its recent commitment from highly regarded running back Javian Osborne, who, like Brown, is from Texas. Osborne has made it clear he would like Brown to join him in South Bend.
Just two days before announcing his decommitment, Brown revealed on X that he had received an offer from Notre Dame.
USC has a policy that prohibits committed players from visiting other schools, whether those visits are official or unofficial. While this doesn’t guarantee Brown will land at Notre Dame, it does suggest he’s at least interested in exploring the possibility of joining the Fighting Irish.
Brown, who stands 5-11 and weighs 175 pounds, had offers from over 35 schools before originally committing to USC. As Notre Dame fans continue to follow the recruitment, they’ll be keeping a close eye on this situation, especially since the Irish have 14 commitments in the 2026 class but only one wide receiver so far.
