How Have the Giants’ Top Prospects Performed This Season Amid High Expectations?
The San Francisco Giants have been one of the top teams in MLB so far in 2025, with a promising future ahead. Many of their key players are locked into long-term contracts or under team control, and a number of exciting prospects are expected to make an impact in the coming years.

No. 1 – 1B Bryce Eldridge
After missing some time early in the season due to a left wrist injury suffered in spring training, Eldridge has been on a strong run since his return. In 12 games, he’s slashed .289/.385/.422 with a home run. While he strikes out a bit, his combination of contact and power is highly promising. The 20-year-old is likely still a year away from making his MLB debut, but the Giants are excited about his future at first base.
No. 2 – LHP Carson Whisenhunt
Whisenhunt is one of the Giants’ most MLB-ready pitchers and could get called up at any point if there’s a need for an extra starter. The 24-year-old currently holds a 4.14 ERA with a 1.216 WHIP and 9.2 strikeouts per nine innings, having walked just six batters in 37 innings. It’s likely he’ll get a shot in San Francisco’s rotation later this season.
No. 3 – SS Josuar De Jesus
The Giants’ top international signing of 2025, De Jesus received the second-largest bonus in team history. Although he hasn’t debuted yet, his five-tool potential and impressive makeup make him an exciting prospect to watch. He’s expected to make his professional debut around June and has the potential to become a future star at shortstop.
No. 4 – OF James Tibbs III
Tibbs, the Giants’ first-round pick last year, is known for his serious power potential, having hit 28 home runs in his final season with the Florida State Seminoles. His bat has taken a little longer to adjust to the professional level, with a .211/.361/.347 slash line through 26 games. However, his patience at the plate is encouraging, as he’s drawn 21 walks while striking out just 17 times, showing promise in his plate discipline.
No. 5 – SS Jhonny Level
Level has only just started his rookie ball season, but he’s wasted no time making an impact. In his first three games, he’s posted a .385/.429/.769 slash line with three doubles and a triple. Known for his speed, he stole 18 bases in 48 games last year and will be a fun player to watch as he continues to develop in that aspect.
